Christoph Meinel is CEO and Scientific Director of the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering gGmbH (HPI). He is also Vice Dean of the Faculty of Digital Engineering at the University of Potsdam. Christoph Meinel holds the chair of Internet Technologies and Systems. He is engaged in the fields of cybersecurity and digital education. He has developed the MOOC platform openHPI.de, supervises numerous Ph.D. students, and is a teacher at the HPI School of Design Thinking, where he is also scientifically active in research. Adrian FLOREA obtained his MSE (1998) at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the ’Politehnica’ University of Bucharest, Romania (2005). At present he is Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at the ’Lucian Blaga’ University of Sibiu, Romania. Adrian is an active researcher in the fields of High Performance Processor Design and Simulation, Dynamic Branch and Value Prediction. He has worked over 20 years in interdisciplinary national and international research projects dealing with issues such as optimization problems in different engineering domains (microprocessors systems, suspension design and reliability, energy efficiency in buildings, smart electricity), embedded systems with applicability in Smart City (smart parking, urban mobility, smart traffic), creating digital tools for supporting communities of practice, mobile computing. He has published over 7 (didactic and scientific) books and 89 scientific papers in some prestigious journals (ISI Web of Science) and international top conferences in Romania, USA, UK, Italy, Germany, China, Slovenia, Korea, Latvia, Spain, India, Poland etc. He received ‘Tudor Tanasescu’ Romanian Academy Award 2005, for the book entitled ‘Microarchitectures simulation and optimization’ (in Romanian) and ‘Ad Augusta Per Angusta’ Award for young researcher, received from ‘Lucian Blaga’ University of Sibiu in June 2007, for special results obtained in scientific research. Since 2012 he is HiPEAC affiliate member and, since 2013 he is ACM Professional member. He is researcher in the European Union’s Horizon 2020 innovation programme under grant agreement No 731724, “Infrastructure and integrated tools for personalized learning of reading skill – iRead” and is the technical coordinator of the Erasmus+ KA2 strategic project “The FoF-Designer: Digital Design Skills for Factories of the Future”. Since 2019 professor Florea is leading the HPI Knowledge Transfer Centre at ULBS.

Lasse Berntzen is a Professor in the School of Business, University of South-Eastern Norway. Since 2003, his research has focused on the Information Society and ICT in public sector, with emphasis on e-government and e-democracy. During the last years his research has focused on smart cities and smart communities. He has been involved in several research projects on national and international level, author and co-author of several conference papers and articles, and program committee member and reviewer for some of the most important conferences within his field of research.

Gerhard Benedikt Weiß has started to work at Virtual Vehicle after receiving his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at Graz University of Technology in 2016. Ken is a Lecturer in the School of Computing at Newcastle University. His main interests lie in developing methods and tools for collaborative, model-based design and engineering of cyber-physical systems (CPSs). In particular, he is interested in helping engineers from multiple disciplines collaborate effectively through co-modelling and co-simulation to achieve better performing, more resilient designs across a range of domains. He also worked as invited researcher in Austria, Spain, Belgium, and Germany, participating as principal investigator in many international projects. He is a member of IFAC TC 5.4 “Large scale and complex systems” and IEEE TC on Computational Collective Intelligence. He is trained in foresight methods by UNIDO. Daniel Homorodean is vice president of Cluj IT Cluster and CEO of Arxia, a Romanian IT company specializing in software development, consultancy, and training, with activity in many markets and subsidiaries in Africa and Latin America.
Daniel is coordinating the Internationalization working group of Cluj IT Cluster and is actively engaging in exploring new markets, support the development of partnerships and of access to opportunities in different parts of the world. Gathering more than 20 years of experience in coordinating actions at local, national and international level, Paula joined the Cluj IT Cluster team in January 2020, aiming to contribute to the stimulation and optimisation of business development and Learning & Development opportunities within the cluster.
In the current context that encourages the massive digital transformation of economy and society, Paula has an active role within the DIH4Society initiative, in services related to market brokerage, business internationalization, and international and cross-industry partnerships, dedicated to SMEs, public administration and healthcare..

Dragoș Cristian VLAD is the PRESIDENT of the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania since January 2022.

Mr. Vlad has over 20 years of experience as an expert in the field of information and communication technology and over 15 years of experience in the management of European funds.

Mr. Vlad is a graduate of the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics and Communications and holds a master's degree in Management and International Economic Relations.

Mr. Vlad began his career as an IT specialist at the National Institute for Research and Development in Computer Science. Throughout his career, he obtained extensive experience in the field of management and implementation of European funded projects that have a pronounced IT specificity, within several public authorities and ministries.

Currently, as the President of the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania, he coordinates the digital transformation strategies of the public administration.

I have been working within the automotive field since 2009, experiencing the full software development cycle for HMI products. My interests are also around software product lines, or how to efficiently develop similar products. During this workshop we will engage you to the latest technologies used within HMIs.

Dragos TOHĂNEAN (b. 1990, Brașov, Romania) is the Vice President of the Romanian Digitization Authority (ADR) since May 16, 2022. Dragoș Tohănean has over a decade of experience in the IT&C field. He is, by profession, a software developer - the main area of activity being that of the SAP domain. He has worked in several top companies in the IT industry in Romania and Germany. Dragoș Tohănean holds an MBA in Corporate Governance and Innovation Management from the Gelsenkirchen University of Applied Sciences and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania. In parallel with the position of vice-president of ADR, Dragoș Tohănean is an associate professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Transilvania University in Brașov, Romania.

Lucian Vulcu graduated in 2005 from the “Hermann Oberth” Engineering Faculty of ULBS, majoring in Economic Engineering and shortly after graduation joined Kromberg & Schubert as mechanical design engineer where he discovered his passion for development of mechatronic products. Five years later he joined Marquardt in pursue of new challenges and had the chance to contribute at the development of many mechatronic products for automotive interiors especially focusing on steering wheel controls. Following his passion for new technologies he witnessed and was part of the technological transformation of the products in the cockpit and the challenges they bring to this field. In 2021 he took on a new challenge as Team Leader for the Advanced Technologies team at Marquardt, a cross-functional team focused on bringing exciting and new technologies from idea to real products contributing to the transformation of Marquardt's Sibiu location into a development hub for new technologies.
